Hi I'm Tia and I am brushing up on my ASL. Without a friend to practice with I frequently turn to youtube videos. Some are better than others. On this blog I will post the ones that I find most helpful and most fun to watch.

ASL Song - 'Lucky' duet

I love Jason Mraz. I love this song and this awesome duet.
Enjoy!

ASL Song - His Hands

This is one of my favorite 'Sunday Songs' to listen to while getting ready for church. She does a great job with conveying the message and feeling of the song. Enjoy!

Greetings and Introductions

This is another great video by Rob. Unfortunately it won't play on the blog, but if you just click it then it will take you to youtube where you can watch it.

Asa still prefers to watch the video below and is learning the "nice" and "meet" sign!

Nice to Meet You

I like these 'Signing Time' videos.
There isn't too much information at once and every sign is clear and easy to understand. Enjoy!

ASL Primary Song - I Know that my Savior Loves Me

It's Primary Program Season! To celebrate, this is one of the songs that the kids have been learning this year. You may notice a few word/structure changes. Her signing is very clear. Maybe someday I'll figure out how to download this video and add the captioning myself.

Simple Practice Sentences

This video shows simple sentence structure. Often, when using proper ASL grammar, the sentence structure is much different than in English.

ASL Song - Do You Remember? {Jack Johnson}

I'll end my postings for tonight with one last song. I am a huge Jack Johnson fan so of course I love learning the signs for this song. The other really great and helpful thing about this video is that in the captioning he has the actual translation of his signs. This is so so helpful as often in lyrics and spoken words the meaning of the message is better conveyed by using different words. And then you don't have to guess which words/signs he is using.
So make sure you have the captioning on and the advertisements closed.
Happy Signing and have fun!
